Organizer-selected class

In some cases, we may invite some people to the organizer-selected class based on their past race results.

  • Selected participants will be announced on the tournament website in late April, and a direct mail will be sent from the organizer.
  • Selected participants will not be eligible for awards in the general category classes.

About baggage storage at the fifth station

  • If you wish to check in luggage for the fifth station, please do so only in the size of a baggage bag (40x60x10cm).
  • Multiple pieces of baggage cannot be checked in.

Awards

(1)Organizer’s Selection
Awards will be given to the 1st to 6th place male and female competitors.
(2)Age Group
Awards will be presented to the 1st to 6th place finishers in each age group.
(3)Brightest Hope Award
The organizers will select one male and one female athlete between the ages of 12 and 22 (age on the day of the competition) who have shown the most promise in their running.
(4)Mountain Split Award
One male and one female athlete will be awarded for recording the fastest time in the sprint segment set up between 19 and 20km.

Parking

  1. If you would like to use the parking lot, please apply when you enter the event.
  2. The parking fee is 600 yen. Applications will be closed when the maximum number of participants has been reached.
  3. The location will be decided at random by the organisers.
  4. You will be notified of your parking space just before the event, so please check.
  5. Please refer to the event website for information on the location of the parking lot.
  6. The roads around the event venue on the day before and the day of the event will be very busy. Please allow plenty of time to get there.
  7. On the day before the event, you do not need a parking ticket, but you can only park in the designated parking area.
  8. On the day of the event, you cannot park in any other parking area than the one indicated on your parking ticket.

Bike type regulations

This event will be governed by the latest rules and regulations of the Japanese Cycling Federation.

<Special Regulations>
  1. There will be no weight limit for Bike.
  2. However, the organizers or judges may prohibit the entry of any Bike they deem to be dangerous.
    (e.g.) Missing parts (steering wheel, taking off brakes, not wrapping bar tape), bracket angle tilted extremely inward, poor maintenance, excessively modified products, etc.
  3. gloves must be worn during the race and on the descent (failure to wear gloves may result in cancellation of entry)
  4. dismounting before the start of the guided descent will be disqualified in any case, and the runner will not be allowed to participate in this event thereafter.
  5. The winners of each event may be subject to Bike inspection after finishing the race. This will be conducted at the finish line or at the event site.

Notes

  1. The start will be from the “Fuji North Foot Park Large Parking Lot.” Please line up according to the guidance provided in the participant information.
  2. Strictly adhere to your assigned start time. If you are late for your start time, you may start with a later group.
  3. There will be no registration on the day of the event. You must complete registration the day before.
  4. Proxy registration is permitted.
  5. Helmets (leather or cloth helmets are prohibited) and gloves are mandatory.
  6. Wearing cold-weather gear is mandatory during the descent. Participants not wearing cold-weather gear may be required to descend via buses provided by the organizers (at a cost).
  7. No pre-race bike inspection will be conducted. Please ensure your bicycle is in proper condition. Top finishers may undergo a vehicle check after finishing. Missing safety equipment (gloves, bar tape, grips, etc.) may result in severe warnings or demotion.
  8. A vehicle inspection and equipment check will be conducted before the start. *This will be conducted randomly. If problems are found during the vehicle inspection, you must make repairs and start with the next group. This also applies to the organizer-selected class.
  9. During the event period, participants engaging in behavior deemed dangerous by the organizers or riding modified vehicles will be disqualified. Additionally, they may be barred from participating in future years.
  10. This event primarily uses the Fuji Subaru Line within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. It is conducted under traffic restrictions on roads frequented by numerous tourists and hikers. Please cooperate to ensure smooth competition progress and respect the surrounding natural environment.
  11. Due to the high altitude of the course, weather conditions are highly variable and may differ significantly between the foothills and higher elevations. Should heavy rain, strong winds, road surface damage, or other phenomena beyond the organizer’s control make safe event conduct impossible, the event may be canceled. The Executive Committee will decide on the event’s status early on the morning of the race day. Please note that if the event is canceled for the reasons stated above, entry fees will not be refunded.

Application Terms and Conditions

  1. Changes to events or cancellations after registration due to personal reasons will not be accepted except when using the “Yuzure~ru” service. Refunds for overpayments or duplicate payments will not be issued.
  2. Participants must be free of heart disease or other illnesses, maintain good health, and undergo sufficient training before the event. Participate at your own risk regarding injuries, accidents, or loss of items.
  3. If the organizer determines during the event that you cannot continue competing, you must immediately comply with the organizer’s instruction to stop competing. You must also comply with all other instructions from the organizer regarding safety management and event operations.
  4. If injury or illness occurs during the event, you cannot object to receiving first aid. The organizer shall not be held responsible for the method or outcome of such treatment.
  5. Participants acknowledge that the organizers bear no responsibility for accidents, injuries, losses, or other damages incurred by participants not attributable to the organizers. Even if the organizers are at fault, liability for compensation shall be limited to the coverage provided by the insurance policies held by the organizers, except in cases of intentional acts or gross negligence.
  6. Participants must obtain consent for their participation in this event from their family, relatives, guardians (if the participant is a minor), or team members.
  7. False declarations regarding age, gender, etc., and participation by anyone other than the registered applicant (substitute participation) are prohibited. If discovered, participants must comply with the organizer’s decisions, including disqualification from participation or awards, and disqualification from future events. Furthermore, the organizer assumes no responsibility whatsoever for medical assistance, refunds, or other matters concerning participants who made false declarations or participated as substitutes.
  8. The organizer retains the rights to publish and use images, photos, articles, records, etc. (including personal information such as name, age, gender, records, and likeness) from the event across various media.
  9. Personal information of event applicants will be handled in accordance with the organizer’s separately stated regulations.
  10. In addition to the above application regulations, participants must comply with the event regulations separately established by the organizer.
  11. Participants must fully understand the nature of this event and the inherent risks of the competition. Recognizing that the organizer’s safety management and medical support systems have limitations, participants must manage their own safety, physical condition, and equipment, obtain insurance, and participate at their own risk.

About the donation

A portion of the entry fee for the event will be donated to Yamanashi Prefecture for the purpose of promoting activities to conserve the natural environment and regional development, with the aim of raising awareness of environmental conservation among participants from all over the country.

What is Mt. Fuji Hill Climb?

The 22nd edition of Japan’s largest hill climb race, held in 2026, takes place on the Fuji Subaru Line against the backdrop of the World Heritage site, Mount Fuji.

Award system : Set your own personal goal and aim for the fifth station!

The following “Award System” has been established to motivate cyclists. Mt. Fuji Hill Climb aims to promote cycling as a lifelong sport.

(1) First-Time Participant Ranking
The rankings (men and women) for first-time participants will be posted on the event website.

(2) Ranking by age group
Rankings for each age group (men and women) will be posted on the website after the competition.

(3) Announcement of those who beat the target time
Those who beat the “target time” reported at the time of entry will be announced on the event website.

Assisted by the pacemaker for less than 90 minutes!
Except for the organizer-selected classes (men and women), “sub 90-minute pacemakers” will be assigned to the 3rd through 7th starts, and the pacemakers will assist the participants to achieve the goal of “sub 90 minutes” that many participants are aiming for.

Even beginners are welcome. The average finish rate has been over 98% for four consecutive years!

The relaxed time limit and moderate gradient make it safe for beginners and women to participate.

Enjoy the Cycle EXPO to the Fullest on the Day Before the Race!

The Cycle EXPO is the largest of its kind in Japan, and in addition to being able to see and try out the latest models, it is also a great opportunity to find a bargain. This year, the number of booths will be increased due to the easing of regulations. There will also be a big prize draw after the race.

As in previous years, the fastest rider (male and female) on the steep, specially-built section (approx. 1km between 19 and 20km) will be awarded a prize.

We will be holding the Mt. Fuji Hill Climb Dojo workout event again this year in collaboration with the online training platform Zwift.

New Program 1Fuji Hill Ride Tour

June 5-7, 2026 (Friday-Sunday): A 3-day tour event to fully enjoy Fuji Hill Climb
On Friday, we will conduct a ride tour of approximately 44km starting and finishing at Fujisan Parking, visiting Michi-no-Eki Fujiyoshida and Lake Yamanaka Myojin Panoramadai, touring Mt. Fuji views and Olympic legacy sites.
Saturday is free time to enjoy the Cycle EXPO, and on Sunday (race day), you can choose between “Race Entry” or “Bus Spectator Tour at the 5th Station” (participation fees differ for each option). The ride tour will also feature test rides of new road bikes from sponsor manufacturers.
Detailed information will be announced later.
Accommodation costs are not included in the participation fee. ※Participants must arrange their own accommodation.

New Program 2SUB55 (New Record Challenge)

This program offers prize money to anyone who finishes in under 55 minutes—a feat never before achieved. Record achievers will receive a prize of ¥100,000 (JPY).
If multiple participants finish in under 55 minutes, all achievers will receive ¥100,000.
The current race record is 56 minutes 21 seconds, set in 2021… Who will be the first to break 55 minutes!?
